Not getting text messages

Why am I not getting all my text messages after I power my phone back on from it being shut down?

It's possible that there is a delay. I had my phone off for a week when I went on vacation, I sporadically got text messages for a day or so as it caught up

All right. Thanks. Sometimes though I'll compare a group chat me and a friend are both in and he'll have more messages in the GC than I will.

So People's messages and they're not getting mine.But it looks like I'm sending them.I pretty much just broke up with my boyfriend because of this
