Galaxy S23General Approach:
* Samsung's Software Tools:
* Historically, Samsung has provided PC software like "Samsung Kies" or "Smart Switch" to manage devices and perform updates. While OTA updates are now the primary method, these tools might still offer some utility.
* It's important to check the Samsung support website for the most current and compatible software for your S23 Ultra.
* Carrier-Specific Tools:
* If your S23 Ultra is from a specific carrier (like Verizon, AT&T, etc.), they might have their own PC software tools to facilitate updates. For example, Verizon references a "Software Upgrade Assistant tool". Therefore, visiting your carriers support webpage could be useful.
* Standard OTA Updates:
* It's crucial to understand that the most common and recommended way to update your S23 Ultra is directly on the device itself:
* Go to your phone's "Settings."
* Find "Software update."
* Tap "Download and install."
* If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions.
Important Considerations:
* Keeping Software Current:
* Ensure any PC software you use is downloaded directly from the official Samsung or your carrier's website to avoid security risks.
* Data Backup:
* Regardless of the update method, it's always a good practice to back up your important data before performing any software update.
* Connection Stability:
* If using a PC, ensure a stable USB connection between your phone and computer.
* Over the air updates are the Standard:
* Most if not all updates will be pushed to the device via over the air updates. So in most cases, a PC will not be needed.
Where to Find Information:
* Samsung Support: The official Samsung support website is the best source for accurate and up-to-date information.
* Your Carrier's Website: If your phone is carrier-branded, check their support pages for any specific instructions.
I hope this helps!

Galaxy S23I don't know what you know or don't know. You evidently have a defective phone that you held onto for a year and a half rather than returning it or requesting a warranty repair while you could. Now anything else you do is at your own expense. Was it originally a factory unlocked phone or was it an AT&T branded locked model - perhaps AT&T disabled some stuff. You said you reset your phone several times, but did you restore your backup with the same errors or start from scratch? Maybe your phone needs to be re-flashed with original firmware. If your connecting to a computer does not work, perhaps it's because you are using the wrong cable. You are supposed to use the cable that came with your phone, and if your computer does not have a USB-C port, you need an adapter. Your USB ports also must be USB 2.0 or 3.0.
No one is stopping you from going to Apple if that's what you want to do, but you could also just buy either a different model of Samsung, or another Android brand. It's not a choice between Apple or Samsung.

Galaxy S23Then AT&T would have added their own firmware and perhaps deliberately only made the quick panel 2 rows instead of 3. I never buy carrier locked phones, so I don't know which carriers disable which features, but I do know that Verizon & AT&T are needlessly restrictive. If you want to keep the phone, you will need to unlock it and find out how to flash the firmware. If you think it's a piece of junk and not worth the effort, purchase another phone. But whether you stick with Samsung, go to Apple or choose another Android brand, select a factory unlocked model. Never let your carrier decide which features of *your* phone you can use.
