Anyone having issues. Android Auto no longer active. Error message says usb port not recognized. Had Samsung tech check out phone and USB port is good. Cables good. Still charges but doesn't show fast charge or connect to USB in car or show connected on device maintenance. This is since the last software update.

Do you have the security setting, Auto Blocker, turned on? There is a maximum setting that is likely preventing your USB connection for Android Auto.

Not turned on. Android Auto was working fine until 4 days ago. Would go off and on then wouldn't come on at all. Did a reboot and still didn't help.

I spoke with Samsung and they had me do a soft reset on the phone. Once I did that it cleared up the issue. Also noted the phone appeared to be updated as well. Contact tech support and have them help you with the reset. Not a factory reset. Just soft this one you still maintain everything on your phone. Hope this helps you as well.

A previous post mentions a "soft reset" but didn't give directions how. There's a few things I would try but first the soft reset is simply holding the volume down button and the power button at the same time until the phone restarts. That's known to clear network issues (cell) and other tasks that may have a glitch or simply need reset. If that doesn't work then I would try (write this down if you need before you restart) but turn the phone completely off. Wait maybe 5-10 seconds then you need to hold the volume UP button and the power button at the same time until you see the Samsung logo when it's booting up. Soon a menu will appear and use the volume down/up bottom to navigate with the menu but in this situation you should look for "clear cache" and then press the power button to execute and let it do it's thing. When it's finished, scroll up/down until you're on the "restart phone" them press the power button to begin restart. It'll be normally and in theory one of those two SHOULD fix this and if you have random issues in the future, it very well may fix them as well. Good luck!
