Emergency alert received late

Everyone I know has an iPhone and they all received an earthquake alert at the time of the earthquake or seconds before. I have an s24 Ultra and I got my alert 15 minutes after the earthquake. It was not the carrier because they have the same carrier as I do. Why am I receiving my earthquake alerts 15 minutes after the fact?

It is the carrier. Apple devices get their messages through a different messaging service than Android systems. Your carriers messaging service for Android is not responding immediately.

Your phone can only display a message if it receives one from the carrier.

Interesting because we all have the exact same carrier. Shame on Android for delaying emergency alerts when Apple delivers them on time.

It's not Android's fault. The blame lies in how your carrier has configured those services to work.

That would be your opinion. I like my iPad Air but I also like my Sammy S24 Ultra. I don't trust either to tell me about weather issues. I have an old school national weather service radio for that.

Google does tell you in their article that earthquake alerts may be received early, on time, or later. I recommend you click on the "Learn More" section for more details.

LOL. no excuse for delaying an emergency alert. Shame on Google.

That's because they don't use their own earthquake sensors but a 3rd party app. It could take time receiving the alert from an app. If you don't want the delay, you can download the app Google used.
