Gmail swipe settings disappeared

I cannot customize my swipe settings in gmail. I had it set how I wanted. I believe it changed after last update. I have followed steps put out by Google. No luck.

You need to contact Google support since the options don't appear for you

I did contact goofle yesterday, still waiting for a reply.
Tried the uninstall update and rebooted. I tried uninstall update several ways. As soon as I return to gmail settings. Nothing has changed.
