Google Messages not staying as default messaging app

How do I get rid of this. I have gone into default message several times and it is set for goggle messages. This only disappears if I choose Samsung messages. I don't want Samsung messages. No matter what I try I cannot get rid of this. Can anyone help me!!???

Whats the difference between google messages and samsung messages? They both do the same thing no?

Yes, that do. They just have different form and different options. Google messages also allow you to "like" messages. They do the same, it is just a preference.
