I reside in Austin, TX, USA. I went on a trip to the netherlands about a year ago. When I went there, my phone automatically switched over to Netherlands mode, time zone, currency, etc. Upon arriving back in the USA my phone did not automatically switch back to USA mode and has been stuck on Netherlands for over a year. This has created a number of difficulties including trying to purchase memory on google and receiving emails or connecting to the navigation system of my vehicle! Can anyone out there Please help me and give me a remedy for my situation???
Make sure you have automatic time zone turned on. Settings/general management/date & time. Make sure all settings are automatic. If it's all on automatic and not showing the proper information, try manually setting the time zone. Also, go into your Samsung account by tapping your photo at the top of the settings and go into your profile info make sure your country or region says "United States".
If you have a U.S. version of the phone and you went traveling, your phone's region should not change, but the time settings sometimes get confused. How did you live with this for a year? If your phone's region changed, for some reason, the only way you can change it back is to contact Samsung or set up the phone all over again.
If resetting the time functions do not put you back on track, try wiping the cache partition and seeing if that corrects it. If it does not, you will have to factory reset your phone. Before you do a reset, though, you should put in an error report with Samsung.
You can try setting it manually. Settings > General management > Date and time. Turn off Automatic time zone. Then click on select time zone. Change the region to United States and the time zone to Chicago (GMT - 06:00)
@Scoot1999 The phone does not do this automatically. I have made multiple overseas trips. My phone did not change currency, etc. Only the time changed.
