I just don't like Google messages 😕 the only thing better about Google messages is the emoji reactions.

Same here! I will use Samsung messages for as long as I'm able to until Samsung forces google on me that I don't want.

I know, one huge reason why I switched from the Google pixel to a samsung is because of the messages app 😑 Hopefully they listen to us and keep samsung messages around and maybe update it too haha 😄

I feel the same. I find Google to be way too invasive for my taste. They either want or require access to many things that they should not need to have access to. I don't use Google as my search engine either unless it's absolutely necessary.
