No thumbnail preview of movie files on PC

I am trying to work out why Windows fails to show a thumbnail preview of a mp4 file in Windows 10. It has no problem with files taken with the S21, I have tried changing the image quality but it still does not work. It works if I edit the video on the phone before uploading it. Any ideas.

On your S24, are you using the newer video codecs offered, which Windows 10 may not be capable of providing a thumbnail from.

On your prompting, I have found the Advanced Setting, where it can be changed to H.264, these are now viewable on Windows 10. Many thanks.
