Hello. Everyone that has Pre Ordered a Galaxy S24, S24+ or S24 Ultra, you can post any order or tracking updates here.

This thread is for Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra pre-orders!

Usually, we try to include the following information:

I'm reading as much info and watching as many YouTube videos as possible in hopes of making the best decision of whether I will cancel my shipment of the S24 Ultra and keep my S23 Ultra. I don't know much about how software updates work other than it helps to improve issues and security on the device. 

I'm in the older generation, so I'm not tech smart. So I'm lost on how it's possible to improve a camera this way.

I'm asking for help from all you intelligent technical camera users. With what's inside the build of the S24 Ultras camera, Is it possible for Samsung to be tweaking the camera in these updates? That will become a better camera system than the S23 Ultra is; in other words, will it take better pictures, or are they going to be comparable? Or would it be to wise just to wait to see what they come out with within the S25? Especially since we're going to be getting UI features anyway. Any suggestions or explanations would be greatly appreciated.

I am so stressed about trading in my S23 Ultra and having a phone camera that isn't even comparable to it.

When the S23 Ultra came out, I remember sometimes taking photos that looked comparable or even worse than the s22U. Every generation seems like it generally improves things a bit. Not by much at first, But with some software updates it improves and gets a lot better.

With the 24U. I'll list off the things that are already better now compared to the S23U.

Video at night has less noise, video can switch between all the cameras when you zoom in and out. Can't do that on the S23U. The zoom range between 3x to like 7x ish, is really improved. Which for most people is a lot more usable. Photos have a softer less sharpened look. I think it looks closer to a real DSLR camera, So that's nice. But it's a bit subjective. Shutter speed isn't perfect but it is improved a lot. By pressing the shutter quickly you can get twice as many photos as on the S23 Ultra. So better for taking photos of kids or pets running around.

With the S23 Ultra. Things are as good as they'll get camera wise. With the s24 Ultra Samsung will be trying to improve things with software throughout the year. If that excites you I'd get the phone. If it doesn't then I'd cancel.

Especially the part that the S23 Ultra camera is as good as it will get.
Do you know what AI features may not be coming to the S23 Ultra?
That may only be built into the S24 Ultra. I don't understand what they mean by the cloud-based AI features.
Not all features are; it sounds as though those are coming to the S23 series and S9 Tabs.

These are all the features that, for me, are worth the upgrade. I'm feeling more confident and excited now to get my phone on the 21st!

I feel the same they will get it tweeked very soon. It is so new that it takes time and feedback to find all the little things. The s24u is also faster, has a nice screen, and will do more ai stuff than the s23u if you like that stuff. Has bigger camera sensor so once tweaked it will take better pictures in all situations, better glass in screen, feels better in hand, easier to grip, can do on device ai instead of over web, more durable. The support is the first one with 7 years of support out of the box. I had no concerns send my s23u in for trade and happy I did as I like this phone better.

Thank you for listing all these positives that helped me decide to pre-order. It has been all those reviews that have me second-guessing myself. It's great to hear you had the S23 Ultra and are confident about your choice.

Yes, I traded and I only had the s23u for a few months so it was basically still new. I had upgraded from my s21u to the s23u in september

Having just got the S24 Ultra, I feel underwhelmed by the camera and would suggest not getting the S24 Ultra if the camera is a main reason to consider it. The biggest issue being, you can't turn off their automatic post processing of photos. It means they over brighten and over HDR every image, even if you turn the "optimisation" settings right down, you can't turn them off completely. And they over brighten and over HDR every photo you take. Very frustrating for a phone of this cost and hyped as having the most amazing camera ever.

I have not had any issues with my camera..yes it definitely needs some software updates, but besides that mine has been amazing!
