Dear forum members,

#1 Are there any plans in the future of One UI to include an indicator when a device is connected to Bluetooth and battery level? Most Android phones have this... I was surprised that Galaxy S24 Ultra doesn't. And I have to fish to the Bluetooth button to even see if my device is connected.

#2 is there a way to configure the Side Button to trigger changing between Sound, Vibration and Silence modes? I can't seem to find that option. I miss the alert slider in my OnePlus phone. It was so convenient and important to me.

Thank you,

Samsung Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S24, don't have an alert slider like OnePlus devices, but there are a couple of options that might help achieve similar functionality:

1. Side Button Settings: Unfortunately, the Side Button on Samsung devices primarily toggles between power functions and launching apps or the camera. It doesn’t natively allow toggling between Sound, Vibration, and Silence.

2. Use Quick Settings: You can add the Sound mode icon to your Quick Settings panel (swipe down from the top of the screen, then tap the three-dot menu to edit). This will allow you to quickly switch between Sound, Vibrate, and Mute with just a swipe and tap.

3. Bixby Routines: Samsung’s Bixby Routines can automate sound settings based on specific triggers, such as time of day or location. For example, you can set your phone to switch to silent mode at night or vibrate during work hours.

4. Third-Party Apps: There are third-party apps available on the Google Play Store that can create shortcuts or widgets for quickly switching sound modes. Some also offer customized automation similar to OnePlus’s alert slider.

Hello,

As far as #1 goes there should be an indicator in the status bar when a bluetooth device is connected, however I don't think there is a way to see battery level there. The closest existing thing would be the battery level home screen widget.

As far as #2 goes, there is a way to make long pressing the side key toggle between muting and playing sound. Samsung provides an app in the Galaxy Store called Good Lock for granular control over phone features. One of the modules called RegiStar allows you to change the side key action, and in the menu of options toggle between sound and mute mode should be one.

For #1, I don't know why the option isn't on there for S24 users. I don't use a S24. But, since Samsung phones use Android, it should have it.

For #1, you can see the battery status at the Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth.

The BT and battery level indicators should already be on your status bar by default.
