Samsung Should Keep Al Features Free - Especially for Flagship Devices

I only recently realized that Samsung plans to start charging for Galaxy AI features in 2026, which is frustrating considering I bought my S24 Ultra without knowing this would happen. When we’re already paying $1,300+ for a flagship phone, AI features should be included at no extra cost—at least for flagship devices, if not all Galaxy devices.

 Samsung has more than enough resources to keep these features free, but it seems like they just don’t want to. Other companies are making AI a core part of their experience without charging extra, so why should Samsung treat it as a paid add-on after just two years?

 If you agree that Samsung should keep AI free for flagship users, or at least reconsider making it a paid feature, post about it and let them know. The more people speak up, the better chance we have of getting them to change their decision.

Because you paid for the phone with advanced hardware and better software. That's what you are paying for in the price of the phone.  Some people think everything should be free just because they paid for *something*.  As I understand it, the core AI will be included and free, the advanced AI will have a subscription fee.

I do believe that the AI features should be kept free. This company is a multi-international company that makes billions. Keeping these free definitely wouldn't hurt them. But conglomerates only care about profit, so we shouldn't expect much care towards the consumer.
With that being said, I wonder which AI components will be charged? Will every single AI feature be charged?

At this moment, I only dink around with the drawing assist feature. That should be kept free. It's only for picture generating anyways.

I agree but I really wish they would change they're mind. It really wouldn't hurt them at all.

They really should. These flagship phones literally amount to a month of rent that equal a 1 bedroom apartment these days. Take that into consideration.

"Conglomerates only care about profit". Yes, of course they do, that's why they are in business.  Samsung is a for-profit company, not a non-profit organization.

True, but at the same time they'll make a profit no matter what they do. 10 times over at that. So keeping some few AI features at no charge won't ever make even close to a dent in their pockets.

I agree. You cant sell a flagship phone which is AI based for 1300 and then have people pay for the service. The service should be included in the value of the phone
