Samsung cloud backup/restore suddenly missing?

My s24U had Samsung Cloud. All my data is backed up into it. I can see it on the Samsung Cloud website. I can see it on my S20+ in the account settings. 

BUT, now, suddenly, my S24u is missing the settings under account. And the app is disabled. It's just dead. So I can't restore my data. My data is locked in the Samsung cloud & unobtainable to restore! But I can see it's there from a backup on 7/26/25

VZW says it's Samsung and they deprecated the Samsung cloud. Samsung says it's VZW and they are blocking the functionality. 

The app IS on my phone  but it's disabled and greyed out and you can't access it and it's matching settings within the account don't exist anymore. And they did just last week.

here's a screenshot from a backup from the Samsung cloud on my Verizon s24 ultra just last week. So we know it worked and we know it's there.

 here is a screenshot from the Samsung cloud app on my s24 ultra but it is now unusable and you can't interact with it open it enable it or do anything with it.

According to Verizon this isn't possible because Samsung cloud hasn't worked for years. But yet here's the very proof that it has and does. According to Samsung it absolutely does work and I know for a fact it does. 

So what happened?? Where did it go? How is it there just last week and now it's gone? How can Verizon say it's a no longer supported app when it is? 

I now cannot restore my s24 ultra with any of the settings any of the home screens any of the app settings it's all stuck in the cloud and not accessible despite the fact the s24 ultra backup is right there in plain sight backed up into the Samsung cloud.

The more I hear about Verizon and its blocking, the more I geel vindicated at never considering them as a carrier.

I am trying to get my brother to switch, we have a shared plan to get discounts on our lines. $40 instead of $60 for our unlimited unlimited plan. I have a mmWave antennas almost right out side my window. Blazing fast. They are also my internet provider that I get a 30% discount. I am stuck with them.

Ah. What price freedom, then? T-Mo has some very enticing plans, home internet, and perks. As far as I can tell, they don't restrict anything, even on locked phones.

My bill would be twice the price, for what I have. Verizon is in my building with Vios.

Yeah, I'm not sure what happened, but I had the option a few days ago and restored my phone. But then, yesterday the option was missing.  So something changed overnight that removed it.

But yet on 2 older phones (an s20+ and an s20) I still have it. All of these are unlocked verizon phones.

Those phones no longer get updated from Verizon, that's why it is still there.

I guess we are going to have to start manually backing up to an external device regularly. It doesn't make sense. Perhaps its an error and feedback should be submitted.

You better BUT BUT.... The real gem of the cloud backup through Samsung is that it would restore all of your Samsung apps and settings and home screens. You could use Google or OneDrive to back up files or images. BUT the only thing that can back up all of your settings and all of your preferences and all of your home screens and put back the layout the way you like it and return all of your apps with the proper settings and preferences you spent years doing.... Is through Samsung cloud. Nothing else can restore that piece of this data. So even if you back up your files and your images manually which are certainly important we can no longer back up and restore all of the work we did to set up how the phone looks and feels and operates. That's a critical loss. That means every single app and every single setting throughout the phone has to be reconfigured because it can't be restored.
