Galaxy S24I have a newer S24, about 4 months old. When I got it i could hotspot it to connect to my Roku when I traveled until 2 weeks ago. Here's how I did it. I would turn on airplane mode then enable hotspot and it worked.
Now it won't work and I've made no setting changes. When I turn off airplane mode and hit enable hotspot, it throws up a message stating you need to use your data connect. If I turn off data and then try to enable hotspot, it says you need to use your cell.
Anyone have information. Can you share just your wifi connection and have your phone in airplane mode? Is there an app to do that.
I work for a cruise line so don't have cell out at sea, only wifi.

Galaxy S24Why not just connect the Roku to the ships wi-fi instead of going through your phone or is that not allowed.
Only thing I can think of going this route is to make sure you have turned on wi-fi on the phone and to verify hotspot name and password between the phone and Roku.

Galaxy S24It took me about 3 tries before it worked, but once I got connected it worked flawlessly.
(Don't mess with airplane mode or disabling any services.) https://support.roku.com/article/215058118

Galaxy S24I just found out the other day on another thread here that they buried the wi-fi sharing feature deep in the mobile hotspot settings. It could be that 2 weeks ago you got an update that turned that setting off. Apparently, you have to go to the mobile hotspot settings, tap on the hotspot name, scroll down to the bottom, where you will see a toggle for wi-fi sharing. That toggle should be on. From there, supposedly, you can share your wi-fi using the mobile hotspot. However, when I cruise, the wi-fi connection is a connection that they purposely configure not to be shared. I know some people have traveled with a router (but I understand those are contraband now), that was somewhat complex to set up for it to work with the ship's connection, but ultimately they did.
