Got these almost smudge like marks on my phone screen. They aren't scratches, but won't come off with a microfiber and distilled water. Never seen this on my S22 ultra.. The spots are smooth to the touch but definitely stand out. Maybe a coating on the screen thats causing an issue?

Galaxy S24And your troubleshooting is spot on? Something caused the breakdown (if that is even what it is), likely by some chemical getting on the screen and breaking down this coating, either via improper cleaning materials or by being near some of these that are airborne and getting onto the screen. This is not Samsung's fault or responsibility. If a screen protector can be used to defend against the issue, that 100% supports my statements.

Galaxy S24Apparently not. People in the S25 forums are also complaining about how they dirtied their screens as well.

Galaxy S24Now could the screen itself be faulty, possibly when considering the one area that has a near perfect 90 degree angle.
But any liquid like lotion etc can harm the screen or something mildly caustic was set on the device unintentionally that could have left those marks. If Samsung doesn't cover, then the OP will have to pay for a screen replacement.
