I have enabled certain people on my contact list to be able to call or text anytime, 24/7 in case of emergency. I am not allowed to have my phone open to just ANY notification or call where I work from 7 am to 3:30 pm M-F, YET I'm not getting any notifications thru text or calls (on any screen AND from any of the three types of notifications) from the people I've chosen! WHY?! Please and thank you for any help! I've had this phone for about a year.
That's why I'm here asking. I don't want it in DND all the time, but I forget to change it after work. If I can have it set up like you explained above, that's what I want to do, not sure how to do it. I've tried to do it myself several times in the last year and it never works, so I'll just take it into a Verizon store. All I've ever had is Samsung phones except for once and I've never had this problem.
Follow the example in my photos. And, yes, doake sure all the sounds and vibrations are on for the messaging app. Make sure you have notification categories turned on. Settings, notifications, advanced settings, manage notification categories for each app. Then go to the message app settings and make sure sound is on for new messages/incoming messages and make sure you choose a sound.
I spoke with a gal at Samsung and she helped me get it back to how it should be. Go to settings, apps, messages, then notifications, (make sure to 'allow' sounds and vibrations), then make sure that Lock screen, Badge, and Pop ups are all 'allowed'. That fixed it for me..hope that helps you..
