Bluetooth only plays sound when the cord is connected to HandsfreeLink in my car

I have checked the bt settings. Audio is checked and audio device type is on speaker.

I've tried connecting to sound bar at home, Bluetooth speaker in my office and Bluetooth audio in my car. All does the same thing. It only play sound when the cord is connected to HandsfreeLink in my car

I had an issue with a portable BT speaker ( an older speaker) where BT would connect, but speaker did not play the sound.

I was able to fix this by enabling the "developer options" menu (instructions are available in the Internet), and disabling HD sound from there.
Notice! At the moment I cannot switch the HD sound back on, perhaps it would require a device reset, so I would suggest you to first try switching to another codec before disabling the HD audio.
