Galaxy S25
Just received my galaxy S25 + today and I have tried to troubleshoot the fingerprint sensor with no success.
Timeline:
- Unboxed phone and migrated using smart switch from S21 +.
- When prompted to add fingerprint. No issue when adding it.
- Updated applications and first application to request use of fingerprint for unlock comes back with an error "fingerprint not available try again later".
- Restarted phone, can login with fingerprint but same issue with app.
- Restarted phone and cleared Cache Partition, same issue.
- Reset Accessibility Settings and Restarted phone, phone stuck on lock screen and screen not responding.
- Factory reset the phone and migrated using smart switch, when prompted to add fingerprint the screen froze. Locking the phone and unlocking it did unfreeze the screen.
- Added facial recognition, no issue.
- Attempted to add fingerprint again and same issue, screen freezes prior to selecting "continue" to add fingerprint. Locking and unlocking phone sometimes fixes it, other times have to restart as screen does not unfreeze
- Ran Samsung diagnostic, but fingerprint sensor check requires fingerprint to be added prior to check which is not possible.
Any other thoughts on troubleshooting prior to callback from samsung tech support tomorrow? Really disappointed with the out of the box immediate failure.

Try clearing the cache by restarting your phone: hold the power button and volume up simultaneously. This will take you to a generic screen. Use the volume buttons to navigate to "clear cache," and press the power button to select it. Once selected, it will ask you to reboot; press the power button to confirm. Your phone will then restart. See if that works.

Tried that as well after Factory reset. No change.

Galaxy S25@RecklessactN Did you by any chance add any type of screen protector on the device?
