Something is wrong with the background play of the YouTube Premium app. It allows you to send a new video to the background once. If you maximize it and try to send it to the background again, it just stops playing. Sometimes, it does not even work at all.

I've read, and I've had the same issues with YouTube premium, it can be the fault of individual videos. It seems like that. Sometimes you can take it off screen and it will keep playing. Other times it won't.

This is weirdly the case only on the S25 Ultra. My S24 ultra behaves normally with YouTube in the OneUi 7 beta. Hopefully Samsung will notice and address it. Thanks for making me know I'm not alone 🙏

This continues to be an issue. Background play no longer functions correctly.

Same here on my ultra 25 I had zero issues with any yt vids on my previous Samsung sending it to background.. It's not the video or yt it's prob the new Samsung UI 🙄

I found a trick that solves half the issue. Don't send to background the normal way. While the video is playing, tap/swipe to the recent apps at the bottom, and then press or swipe the home button to minimize everything. This makes the video go to background immediately without popping up first. This works for me all the time.

i don't see anything that shows tap or swipe to all apps in the bottom? Do I have to switch to swipe gestures I prefer the buttons of the home screen

No switching required. I think my description is horrible. While your YouTube video is playing, press the recent apps button. Next to your Home and Back buttons. The YouTube app and other apps will appear, ready for you to switch apps. Instead, just press the home button. All the apps will be minimized and your video will still be playing in background.
