Galaxy S25@usercqwue5IH4z I see what you mean. It appears that the preview when you are editing the transparency does not actually match the result. Going for the lowest transparency on the slider makes it lighter dark but not really transparent.
I suggest that you submit a bug report using the Samsung Members app.

Galaxy S25From what I am experiencing testing that out. If iset it to match phone setting between screen background (that does not work), light and or dark will not work either, where the latter two is only transparent if the background is either black or white (which means transparency does not work correctly).
I suggest using Google search as the Samsung version defaults to the engine when you open that widget anyway. It's transparency work a bit better, but one can set the hue/saturation to match the background making it look like it is transparent. Here is the widget settings example unmatched and matched. Note I set the hue/saturation under the custom choice an the one I made is not totally matched, but it can be and I did this fast It does not change the the icon tones like the G (they remain static) within the search bar, so that could be an issue.
