Timer on the now bar just says "timer" and doesn't show the countdown unless I unlock the phone.

Edit: show content needs to be enabled for lock screen notifications in order for the timer to show up properly.

1. Double tapping it prompts me to unlock my phone.
2. If i have to engage with it to use it, the glanceability of having it on there at all becomes moot.

That's so weird. I tried rebooting and that didn't help. Still no luck. S25U here as well.

Try a wipe cache partition.

I feel like these days the first steps to troubleshooting should automatically be 1) reboot and then 2) wipe cache. Would probably solve at least 70% of issues.

People say a lot of stuff happens to their phones after updates. Before I knew about clearing the cache, I would always wait for the update to complete after the auto reboot and then reboot manually. Kept things running smoothly. I find that sometimes the install isn't really completely in place until the second reboot.

I wipe cache partition after every update. I almost never have problems with my phones.

I do now, but I still do the second reboot first. As I said, I always felt I never had issues because I did that - and it was before I knew about the cache cleaning.
