Anyone else struggling to transfer whatsaop chats from s24 ultra to s25 ultra?? It's ridiculous

Honestly, I had tried EVERYTHING since getting my S25+ on 1st Feb (chat transfer, google drive backup, variations of this manual file transfer). Everything else failed but following these steps worked a treat!! I'd been trying for ages every day to get it working and ended up locking myself out of whatsapp for hours at a time due to the validation time limits, I was carrying around two phones to still use whatsapp on my old phone!!

After doing this, my contacts were showing as phone numbers instead of saved names (those that were saved on my google account were showing as numbers, only those saved to my sim showed the name) but as someone else here suggested, I just re-saved one of the numbers and the rest synced up and showed correctly.

I tried to back up to another phone, and success, so i use companion mode temporary until update to fix this, and restore to s25

Hope samsung can repair this soon

It's simple temporary solution:

1. When it stuck at 99% restore, immediately restart the S25 Ultra. And you will have all your previous chats from the backups. Now what you have to do is manually copy your Media from your old phone (step 2)

2. The easiest way to copy your Media files is to use a USB drive. Use My files app on yourold device and copy rhe following:

Internal Storage/Android/media/com.whatsapp/WhatsApp/Media

Copy that folder from your old phone to your USB drive and then use it replace the S25 Ultra's Internal Storage/Android/media/com.whatsapp/WhatsApp/Media folder.

Restart your phone.

Help!!! I'm having the SAME ISSUE for my WhatsApp!!! After I've switched fr S22 Ultra to S25 Ultra, I try to reload my WhatsApp from my backup in Google Drive but it couldn't find my backup!!! This is STRESSFUL REALLY...especially when I've many critical communications on WhatsApp!!!

I waste my time for the past 35hrs just trying to restore whatsapp from s23 ultra to s25ultra 

There was no luck same issue 

Tried Google 

Local backup 

Chat transfer 

All were unsuccessful 

Thought I will go to a mobile store as might I get extra experience, wasted 4hrs, then he told that yesterday one customer came with the same issue and was not able to fix 

Finally decided to search the net for similar issue and I found that many users having the same issue and whatsappp has already acknowledged the issue and stated they are working on it but with no timeline 

Currently decided to keep my old phone running and mirroring whatsapp on my new device
