Coming from the iPhone 16, it feels Samsung should have just copied Apple with stacking widgets. Swiping stacked widgets should obviously be vertical, not horizontal the way Samsung has done it. I'm trying to make a useful home screen, but often when I'm actually trying to swipe to my 2nd home screen, I hit a widget during the swipe and end up just swiping through a widget stack. Apple designed widget stack swiping vertical so this never happened once on the iPhone. So, being on Android, there should at least be an option to choose which direction you'd like to swipe your widgets.

@kpatt2006 This was discussed once before on this site. If the swipe was vertical there would be a larger chance of error (swiping outside the widget). A swipe up on the home screen causes the phone to switch to the app screen. So more people would be accidentally switching to the app screen when they were just trying to swipe between widgets.

I just came from a phone where the widgets were vertical swipe, on the newest iOS. This iteration of horizontally swiping widgets is way more annoying. I actually had to remove the widget stacks on my middle of the screen widgets because I couldn't swipe to my other homescreens without swiping widgets. I never once had a missed vertical widget swipe on the iphone which would've opened the search function or whatever. Plus, I would guess more people are switching between home screens where they have widgets and apps they use all the time, than opening the app drawer.

Anyway, this being android, there should be a setting somewhere in One UI to give the user a choice between vertical or horizontal.

In a similar vein, I have never swiped a widget stack and accidentally went to a different home screen.

I do agree that providing the option for vertical or horizontal swiping would be most flexible. This may not be possible due to Android system limitations.
