Only way I've been able to disable watch navigation:
1. On the watch, swipe up on the home screen to see your app list
2. Open Google Maps app
3. Press the magnifying glass (search) icon
4. Scroll all the way down to the "Settings" and press it
5. Press "Auto Launch"
6. Toggle off "Driving"

That's it

You can disable the app from the settings in the Wear app on the phone. I don't believe there is another way.

I am impressed by the speed by which bugs are fixed. I got the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 46 mm LTEafter the official release date. Calendar appointments were shown as expected, but when they included an address and I touched the address, Google Maps would launch and show my present location, NOT where I wanted to go. Since the last firmware update, the watch tells me how long it takes to get to my destination by foot, bicycle and car, and when I touch my mode of travel, it immediately launches navigation. I am very impressed!

Spot on. Worked for me. Thanks.
I would never have thought to click the magnifier to find settings.
Not cool Samsung.
