Galaxy WatchThank you for reaching out. I can certainly understand your concern with the touch bezel on your Galaxy watch 5 turning off, and I would be happy to look into this further for you. The Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch Active2, Galaxy Watch4, and Galaxy Watch5 all have a Touch bezel that's completely digital. When this feature is turned on, you can swipe around the edge of the screen with the tip of your finger to scroll between apps and screens. If the feature is off, the screen will not respond when you touch the bezel.
Note: Depending on the watch's software version, the Touch bezel may be turned off by default. Do not use the Touch bezel near magnetic fields as this may cause interference or device malfunctions. Give this link a try for steps to troubleshoot the symptoms you are experiencing: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01203386/
Next step if you are still experiencing these symptoms would be a reset of the watch. Give this link a try for step to properly reset your watch: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00084702/
Please test your device prior to restoring from back up to see if you are still experiencing these symptoms.
If you have tried the troubleshooting steps and are still experiencing these symptoms, the next step would be a service repair. For in warranty devices: Please feel free to reach out to us directly via one of the following options and include a link to this thread.
