Re: UPDATE to correct Galaxy Watch Pedometer?????

JUMP TO SOLUTION

Got an email saying that the refund is on the way.  My GearS2 battery life is awful so I found a refurbished Gear S2 with a warranty and a 3 year extended warranty.  It is working great, but I really liked the new watch except that it wouldn't track my steps.

After sending back my watch for the second time and waiting, I got my refund check. I really loved the watch  but counting steps was why I purchased it and that was a deal breaker for me. It was off several thousand steps from my Note 9, my Gear S2 and my 2 Gear Neo.

As a result, many of my steps are not counted. I keep waiting for a fix, as my steps are way undercounted compared to my Gear Fit2 Pro.

Come on Samsung. Please correct this prolem ASAP.

I found the fix! Check it out everyone. Troubleshooted and tested myself.

It seems better but I don't know if I'm just convincing myself that it is.

If you do three steps it still does not seem to pick it up.

So then come on Samsung. If this above fix actually works then you should be able to put out a permanent very quickly. But also if it's true I'd be pretty disappointed with your Samsung crew that they didn't catch the issue.

I don't understand this at all because the simple genetic watch face that comes with the watch has a step counter on it?

Seem to work alright -  Thanks for sharing. But still needs to be fixed in a software update for other watch faces

I am being told that there is no ETA on when this will be fixed.  It could be 2 weeks, it could be 6 months, it could be longer.  If you want a reliable step counter then I suggest not holding onto this in hopes of a fix because the answer is that Samsung simply has no idea.  Return the watch for a refund and find another model.  That's what I am going to do.  It's a shame because I liked the other features it offered.

Could you imagine how amazing Samsung could be if they:

1- test products before releasing them

2- deliver quick updates to the unacceptable bugs we encounter with almost every product they release.

3- release new Android updates/versions faster

4- Remove Bixby, this annoying pos that no one asked and doesnt even work properly ?

They could wiped the competiton with that short list.
