My Samsung Pay watch plug in was just fine yesterday.  All my cards were in and worked, as they have for the past 2 years.  This morning, I went to pay for something using my watch and found that somehow the watch plug in had been reset and all my cards deleted--had to pull out the phone and pay that way.  Not having to do that was the reason #2 why I bought the watch in the first place.

I fixed it, and added all my cards back, but I don't know why it happened at all.  Nothing else on my watch or phone was amiss, and an app reset is not the kind of thing that happens by accident.  There were no updates, no sudden failure of the watch -- everything was normal and working fine.

Anyone have any ideas as to what happened?

If that is going to work for you and you accept that solution, to the right of my name on the comment where I gave you the solution, could you please click the three dots and then click "Accept solution"?

How about having 2 phones registered with the same name and everything merged on the devices?

Samsung pay watch app issues

Every time there is an update my cards disappear from the app and I have to start over and add them. Every time it is a headache trying to add the cards cause of issues saying failed to communicate with watch or something to that effect. It took me 2 hours of rebooting the phone and watch, uninstall the app, checking permissions, trying to update the watch with wifi, eventually it started working and would let me register my bank card to the phone. If you can't store the cards every time it updates how about letting it tranfer the cards from samsung wallet to samsung watch pay

Even though Samsung pay blows away the cards after an update you can use the import card feature to reactivate your card without having to fully rescan it or re-enter the information. The cards are saved in your Samsung account but sometimes it takes a minute for them to show up in the app to reimport them.

Yeah I don't understand the import feature, import from where ? I use samsung wallet app. They have so many samsung apps, it's kinda hard to know what app would export the cards

If you go into the Pay app on your watch and click the + to Add card, it will offer to import them from your Samsung Wallet on your phone.

Seems like every 6 months or so that all my cards loaded in my watch disappear. They are loaded in my account, but I have to re-enter/scan them all again! Why is this happening?

After a period of inactivity they may disappear for security reasons according to Google.
