They're doing an every other cycle with the pro and the classic, from what they were saying at the reveal event. No classic next year, but we get a pro, and so on.

Did they actually state that? All the articles I've researched they said they were guesses that's what would happen.

Galaxy Watch 6 Classic.

So, yeah, it's not the 6 Pro, but the watch is elegant from a hardware design. The sapphire screen is stunning.

Now while I knew what I was getting, and it was not going to be days on end battery life,
It would appear that a fresh charge is estimated to last a little over 22 hours.
No user apps open.
What happened to the advertised 40 hours?

Second is memory.
Good that memory was boosted from 1.5GB to 2GB,
but seriously this is rather small considering the device is now using 1.2GB.
The apps, watch faces, etc. are a duplicate of the Watch4C. It only had 1.5GB to play with. Could Samsung have splurged a bit and gone to 3 or 4GB in memory. That could have made for a real performance boost and battery life.

Third is storage.

Samsung held the line at 16GB. Two generations and no increase?
My main question is storage allocation and reporting. According to the Wear App,
10.1 GB of storage is being utilized. Look at the screenshot. The numbers don't add up.

Apps 616 MB
Images 790 KB
Audio 4.61 MB

Where did all the other GB's go? System apps, OS, wouldn't amount to that much.

Again, pretty sleek watch, but Samsung has some splainin' to do with the stats?! Screenshot_20230918_160634_Galaxy Watch6 Manager.jpgScreenshot_20230918_160556_Galaxy Watch6 Manager.jpgScreenshot_20230918_160518_Galaxy Watch6 Manager.jpg

but you forgot to mention they removed the ability to use it as standalone.  new DOWNGRADE FEATURE of the developers ,,, unlike the smartwatch 4 YOU NEED A PHONE PLAN AND A WATCH PLAN to use it.... but dont worry they are STILL MARKETING IT LIKE IT CAN DO STANDALONE ... fake until you make it

I will applaud Samsung on the trade in values. We are now really leasing our devices if we want to trade up every year or so.

Traded in my GW4C for $200 plus another $50 cash discount. $172 for the GW6C.
And the GW4C was purchased used on Amazon for less than what I traded it in for.
Now the GW5 Pro 45mm is on sale in the Samsung Shop app. Traded in my GW3C for $190! Seems off considering the 4C trade in value, but I will take it! Plus the sale, so the GW5Pro for $220.

Two flagship watches for less than the price of one... A bit more factoring in the used GW4C which was in perfect condition all around.

GW6C for the office, going out on the town. It is super nice looking and classy.
GW5 Pro for exercise and on the trail.

With Wear OS app it is easy to have everything you want on both watches and switch seamlessly with the watch you want to connect to your phone.

Each watch has their own strengths and weaknesses.

Until the next round, I am super happy with both and being in the Samsung ecosystem.

Fix that sleep monitoring though.

Unfortunately, Samsung's latest watch technology is still limited in usable apps.  Especially the watch will not connect with hearing aids.  I have ReSound Quattro which connect to the S23, and I assumed it would translate to the Watch6.  I was wrong.  When will Samsung work to support hearing aid users?  I need the ReSound Smart 3D app to work on my watch.  Thank you.

Bought watch and I can't believe the temperature sensor doesn't measure unless you are sleeping. Really?? How useless.
