I tried using Google Wear OS my Samsung Watch 4 through the Google play store and was informed that my watch isn't compatible. I installed the app on my phone and tried to pair up with my watch, but alas there was no recognition of my watch.

You have to use the Samsung Wearable app. The Wear OS app is not compatible with Samsung phones. The Watch 4 has the newest version of Wear OS that is only currently available to Samsung.

Yeah I was using the Samsung app, but with all the hype about Google Wear OS, ( I'm a big Google fan) I wanted to use it instead. Through the PlayStore I found out that my watch, not the phone, wasn't compatible . But I'm okay with the Samsung version. I've got everything I'm supposed to have on my watch including the new Google assistant.
