I've worn the watch since it came out. It did this once before, then has been fine for a year. Suddenly today my wrist felt funny so I removed the watch to find a distinct red burn area. Watch is not warm to touch so it's from the sensor light. Anyone have a clue?

@hbelkin Sorry that you have experienced this. BTW, an allergic reaction can look like a burn. Make sure to clean the back of the watch before using it again.

If it is hot then it will burn you. In conclusion take off your watch if it feels like it is burning you.

It wasn't hot. And yes, I swabbed the back with alcohol last night because the irritation was starting yesterday. Im guessing that since it was already irritated, the sensor light damaged it more today. Will switch wrists until healed. I don't tend to clean the watch very often because it always looks clean...

Now that I think about it, the last time this happened over a year ago someone told me to clean it and the alcohol trick did the job.. I guess even though it looks clean bacteria or the like must gather and then react with the sensor light to cause irritation to the skin

I wipe the back of my watch clean every time I remove it to put on the charger.  One sweats under the watch and skin cells and oils accumulate on the bottom, causing irritation.

No, it seems that it is my fault for not cleaning it regularly. However it does seem to be more common with the watch 6 than other models.... But I absolutely love my watch 6 classic, especially with the metal band that I added, and the simulated Rolex face 😁20230818_145401_1000071811_1735779616.jpg

I read there's a issue with the watch band having some toxic or some chemical component

I replaced the stock bands with a quality stainless steel band. I wear the watch daily and frequently at night as well for over a year
