I prefer to use Google messages. Why is when I get a message on the watch it like different than actually going into the messages app? Is there a way to fix this that when I click the message it opens in the Google messages app? First 2 pictures are when I get the message and then click the notification. Last picture is actually opening the Google messages app.

I always thought it was because of Samsung messages but I removed Samsung and it still did it, kind of annoying to me

I've got news for you.  That *is* the logo for the Google Messages app on the watch.  Samsung Messages has the 3 dots in the middle of the talk bubble and the handle goes in the opposite direction.  Just like on the phone, you can only have one default message app on the watch.  If Google Messages is the app you have active on your watch, that's where your messages are coming from.

That's I figured it. But why are they 2 different looking apps then?

They don't look like differet apps to me. It depends on whether the view is before you tap to open it or tap to respond.

This first picture is when I get notified I have message. The second picture is after I tap that notification. The third is when I go to the app and select Google messages app. They are different, I'll screen shot again and send another incoming message.

So again, the first picture is the notification when I swipe to left, I click on notification and the second picture is what shows. The third picture is what I get when I open the Google messages app from app tray. Two different looking apps. I like how opening the app it has the voice option right there and I don't have to click the message respond , open another window and then swipe to get voice text icon. Way more steps than there needs to be. Why can't I open the notification and go directly to app as seen in third picture??Screenshot_20240911_122140_One UI Watch Home_1000039816_1726075655.pngScreenshot_20240911_122150_One UI Watch Home_1000039817_1726075670.pngScreenshot_20240911_122201_messaging_1000039818_1726075689.png

It's still all Google messages. That's the way it looks for me too. Admittedly, I don't scruginize. I just get my texts and answer or ignore.

Good for you but I would prefer to click notification and open the Google messages app, that's just my preference. Why have it do 2 different things, doesn't really make sense to me, but I'll deal with it.
