I just got the watch for Christmas and want to lock the screen of the watch. I use it to detect my sleep pattern. And when I wear it to sleep it calls/text/other random stuff because the screen is always active.

I am NOT asking how to set up the pin/pattern. I got that.

It would be nice if it had an option to lock after a set time. The only way around it was  to deactivate wrist detection and switch to lockdown. I want to have wrist detection on with lockdown available. Is this possible?

Same for the samsung pay. I've accidently held the samsung pay button when bending my wrist. The last thing I can see a potential security concern with an active NFC reader. My temp solution is to deactivate samsung pay and use Google pay as default. Not desirable, but its the only secure option.

Water lock mode might work. It shuts the screen down from using touch. I use this mode at work because of gloves I wear freak out the screen and call, text, and do random stuff.

if you head to watch settings > display > screen wake up. here you can make it so it won't wake due to screen taps. then you can change the screen time out as well as the only on display off so its not always on1735710901904.jpg1735710901924.jpg1735710901943.jpg

Do you put your watch into sleep mode when you sleep? That turns off the screen and prevents accidental wakeups.

@Deskdragon22 When you go to bed, activate Sleep mode on the watch. This prevents accidental touches to the screen or wrist movement from activating the watch.

If bending your wrist causes a button to be pushed on the watch, I would recommend wearing the watch further up your arm.

Personal preference on where I wear my watch and further up will only result in it sliding down to my wrist anyways. I like it tight to prevent sliding.

I dont have the bezel version. And ya I could do sleep mode, but sometimes I forget and just pass-out at the end of the day. I'm asking to have the option I mentioned above. Not for everyone to suggest ways dealing with what samsung has given and not provide customer feedback.

You can use routines on your phone to enable Sleep mode at a given time. This will sync to your watch as long as your watch settings are configured properly.

You can set sleep mode to activate automatically, it would be best utilized if you have modes synced with phone. Go to modes ad routines on your phone and edit sleep mode to set your (usual) sleep time and then set it to turn on automatically and under what conditions.

Ya I had to research sleep mode, I couldn't find the mode setting directly on the watch. I appreciate the alternative options.

I'm not asking for for alternatives or a quick solution. I'm asking for the option to use the lockdown feature with wrist detection enabled. And maybe adding an option for a lockdown timer.

I've seen other forums (here, reddit, etc) asking for the same thing with other users dismissing them saying that what there asking for is not necessary or even calling them stupid. I'm saying that for some it is there own preference to have a lock for there own reasons. We want a samsung watch that has the same features that other watches have.

@Deskdragon22 To choose a mode from the watch, swipe down from the top of the watch and click the Modes icon. You can select "Sleep" to activate Sleep mode.
