I've spent the past 30 minutes looking for a way to calibrate the barometer that all Galaxy watches have, but no one seems to have an answer. Has anyone here figured out how to do it? And no, the compass calibration procedure does not calibrate the barometer.

Your 1st reply came across as condescending. You assumed that I hadn't already read all 77 pages of the user manual before asking for help here. It also wasn't helpful because it didn't provide a solution for my specific problem. Your 2nd reply is a much better attempt at trying to help, and I do appreciate the effort. But, it didn't tell me anything that I didn't already know, and it still doesn't address my specific issue.

The self calibrating function you described uses GPS location and, as you pointed out, weather information from weather stations. It'll use those data points to override/"calibrate" what the built-in barometer reads if it doesn't match. But that method requires an LTE or WiFi connection, which makes it fairly useless for someone hiking in remote, high altitude areas.

What I'm looking for is a way to manually calibrate the built-in barometric pressure sensor, completely independent of any kind of internet connection. Samsung made an altimeter and barometer app that included a calibration method that allowed users to do precisely that. But that app isn't compatible with Wear OS watches, and Samsung has neglected to make a compatible version.

Ok. Understood. Well, I know about Instrument calibration based on couple of years performing that task for pharma companies. I think the wearable have the capability to "calibrate " the barometer via coding on some specific setup configuration...

...unless your case/scenario is not having a good LTE or internet reception...I guess the Samsung Enginners or Developers never thinks about that possible scenario.

Agreed. It's a ridiculous oversight when you consider that they're marketing their $650 USD "Ultra" smartwatch as a serious tool for intense outdoor activities, including hiking and rock climbing.

I do road cycling. It is not as they said it will work even w dual GPS capability. But it is a "better version of the **bleep** Tracy watch..." if you remembered

I do remember. Simpler times. In many ways, we're spoiled...but our expectations are based on progress, manufacturer claims, and cost. Unfortunately, at this time, this watch does not live up to all of Samsung's claims, nor does it live up to its lofty price. I had always felt that the Apple Watch Ultra was ridiculously priced, but Samsung's attempt has changed my mind. I rather pay $800 for a watch that does everything it's supposed to do well, than $650 for a watch that is only slightly more capable than it's $380 Galaxy Watch 7 sibling.

Thanks, I appreciate it. And yes, I spend most of my time babysitting other drivers...watching for clues that they're about to do something stupid, then using my air horn to try to get them to reevaluate what they're about to do, and if that fails, maneuvering to avoid the consequences of whatever mess they create. When combined with severe weather, mountain driving, heavy metropolitan traffic, and maintaining control of and maneuvering 80,000 lbs at 70 mph...well, let's just say that it's rarely boring...despite the long hrs behind the wheel. You take care.

A nice sound system with your favorite music helps. Some drivers missed the physics class in High School... the Concepts of Momentum: Mass x Velocity (Speed). Stay safe....let me know if by anytime you would be near the Melbourne, Florida area...
