I just installed a new q600c soundbar with the 9200s rear speakers to my au8000 TV and it sounds awesome!!! However, when trying to fine tune fine tune the sound the bass and treble, as well as the EQ, settings tell me "Not Available". Also when I go into the advanced sound settings on the TV the EQ settings are greyed out. I've also already updated the firmware.

I'm connected using the HDMI e-arc connection. I've tried just external speaker as well as Q- Symphony. Still greyed out on TV and soundbar says bass and treble are not available when trying to adjust. I've tried setting the digital output to PCM, Passthrough and auto and get the same results from each setting. This is getting really frustrating. Any help is appreciated.

I just figured out the bass and treble saying not available on the soundbar. I switched to soundbar only instead of q symphony and it allows me to change it. So I'm figuring that when using q symphony I should be able to use the equalizer on the TV. I contacted Samsung support and they couldn't figure it out either.

You may need a firmware update? If it's a new soundbar chances are it needs an update. Trying to manually update my Vizio right now. Check your current firmware version against the websites most up to date version.

Unfortunately, I did the update as soon as the soundbar was installed. 😞

Hello there @JesterPizzle!  How is your home theater connected to your television?  There are two things that come to mind here for me.  First, if the speaker settings on the TV are set to External, a lot of the options to optimize the sound on your television will be greyed out.  Also, if you are connecting via HDMI, I would highly suggest switching to an optical cable as well a lot of times the HDCP protocol can limit the options available to you as well.  Give these things a try and let me know how they work out for you.

If the suggestions don't help any, please let us know so that we can look into other potential options!

3 options for Samsung

TV

TV + soundbar

Soundbar only

You can only adjust the EQ in advanced settings in TV mode only.

You can adjust the treble and bass on the soundbar if you are using the soundbar only mode.

It is a bit ridiculous. I am not sure if the EQ settings will remain if you adjust on TV and then switch to soundbar.
