I just grabbed an inexpensive Soundbar for a spare room and connected it to my Samsung UN65MU630D TV. I've tried so many things and just cannot figure this out! Below is what I've done:
- Power Cycle
- Swap HDMI cords (it's brand new though and used the new HDMI cord it came with, but didn't work with an older one either)
- Made sure AnyNet was on.
- Made sure both ends went into HDMI ARC ports
- Downloaded and installed firmware update via USB.
It doesn't even show as an option under Audio to select the Soundbar, however I did try plugging a Blu-ray player into the extra HDMI port on Soundbar and the TV instantly recognized that.
I can get the Soundbar to connect via Bluetooth, but again, it doesn't even show up as an option to select.
Lastly I tried to add to Smartthings but there's no QR to scan and when I try to add manually, it just says "Power On to begin using your device" but it already is on and that screen never changed, so I can't get it added to the app.
What else can I do?! I don't want to use optical or BT as you lose the benefits of the enhanced sound, but I'm at a loss here. It's Samsung to Samsung, this should be a breeze!

Home TheaterIs it possible that you are using the wrong HDMI port on the sound bar to connect to the TV? You said you connected a blu-ray player to the extra port on the sound bar and the TV recognized it. Have you also tried using a different HDMI port on the TV? Have you read the manual?
