Since the update, the soundbar is unresponsive and can't be reset.

Seems like quite a few people with the issue

I saw a news article about this issue and rushed to turn off auto updates. I noticed mine is already on 1020.7 and has been working fine. Does that mean my unit somehow escaped the glitch? Just wondering if it can still brick.

@BocaProwler My device did the update on march 10th and worked fine until 13th when it bricked.

mine too bricked the 13th. But I expect they solved it also in the ota update because I hear some more people they have still working systems after 5 days of auto update... Strange I guess they solved it quickly in the background so not all soundbars should have go back to repair service centers ... And that also people give some good news in between the bad news...

A few months back Samsung released an Android update that bricked a bunch of older phones, including my wife's. I had to reset to factory, losing a time of photos not yet backed up. Now this with not reset fix. My Q990D is still working now, just hope it stays that way.

Wouldn't get your hopes up. Mine only died about 2 hours ago after auto-updating earlier this week

It's unbelievable, that we still didn't get any informations. Shame on customer service and Samsung.

Q995 bricked two days ago, Germany.

Same issue here. I was able to get in and out of the Shop Mode but other than that „TV ARC” is the only  option showing (and it does not work Okay as input as there is no sound produced). Pressing Volume up quickly shows the last Volume set but goes back to "TV ARC". On/Off on the remote works laggy when trying to turn OFF. "BYE" displays for quite long (10 seconds)

I tried the firmware upgrade as described here (thinking redoing it will fix the problem)

The version was probably the same one that caused it (1020 from Mar 10th 2025)

https://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/downloadfile/ContentsFile.aspx?CDSite=UNI_UK&OriginYN=N&Model...

Nothing happened after placing the USB drive into the slot.

Talked to the support and they recommended video call to trouble shoot. Having a background in IT management, personally I would try to install older firmware if I can find it. The fact that 2 different USB drives I prepared (FAT32 and NTFS formatting) did not initiate a manual upgrade does not leave me much hope. I will keep everyone posted as you are probably on TV speakers now. Btw despite "TV ARC" showing and TV sending the signal properly (Anynet+ on, cable Okay) the soundbar no longer produces any sound.

Same situation down to the letter. I know manual says USB update won't start if the firmware is the same, but since UPD doesn't appear at all, I don't know if they release a new one if it will even go into update mode considering nothing else works.
