Since the update, the soundbar is unresponsive and can't be reset.

 

Seems like quite a few people with the issue

A small number they say?!!!, we are 165000 viewing this **bleep bleep bleep** community forum all around the world, and the worst thing of this is that I'm in Mexico and support in here is the worst and we dont have pretty laws like UK or US where I can go and throw at their face my Q990D and ask for a new one

Yeah! Exactly the same here in Australia. Frustrated!! So Samsung whats the FIX??? Replacement!!! mine is 5 months old. Was the best thing out until update stuffed it! NOT happy šŸ˜ž

My question is my Q990D service USB port is not functioning after applied 1020 firmware, so how do I downgrade to 1016 through service USB port?

Seeing that the official support page shows 1016 and no longer 1020, I tried the upgrade method as downgrade but the behavior is the same. The soundbar shows no reaction to the USB stick and does not update.

The version of the latest published firmware shows:

Upgrade File(USB type),MAIN

  • ver 1016
  • 1222.15 MB
  • Mar 17. 2025
  • All OS
  • MULTI LANGUAGE

I do not have the sources but some said, that 1020 was Okay if applied via USB and that only devices that received Auto-Updates via WiFi are affected. Some facts from my personal experience:

-my soundbar remains Offline in Smartthings

-my soundbar is no longer an active WiFi client (checked the router settings while the soundbar is on)

-my soundbar did not react to 1020 nor 1016 USBs

I will wait for further instructions from the support, maybe there is a magic trigger for a reset without having to send it in.

After an automatized update, my Q990D is bricked at Sevilla (Spain)

I am from Bangalore, India.  A technician came today and tried everything all of us here potentially have tried (poweroff/on .reset etc). I told him this is a worldwide problem and he should read the updates in your forum and I showed him this forum. He called his senior tech who was reluctant to speak to me saying " I don't talk to customers". All I wanted to tell him was that this is a worldwide problem and you need to get some confirmation from your senior level on the next action and then send someone to my home. But he won't listen! The tech who came here left with an update his manager will assign someone else.  No update here on the forum from Samsung as to what could be done. What a shame!

spanish web support doesnā€™t even let u connect to them, they say 6 people on queue, when adding q990d problem, when your turn comes the chat doesnā€™t start and just says send an email! this is the worse joke i have ever seen
