I had this player connected to a Smart TV and it played everything. Since I moved into a Home Theatre Setup with a Yamaha RX-V685 Receiver and a Benq Tk-850 4k projector it will only play 4K discs. As soon as I put an ordinary disc in the cradle and insert I get no picture or sound. I have tried numerous DVD's all region 4, all clean with the same result. Once I return a 4k dvd to the cradle all good again.

I have exactly the same setup and exactly the same problem. I also get no response when I insert a 4mpeg video into the USB Drive. Nothing. All seems to work OK with 4K DVD's but ordinary dvd's (which is most of my collection) simply won't work. I have checked every possible setting I can think of (but also have no idea why the Receiver has to be set at 1.4 and not auto to work. This is supposed to be a good quality 4k/Blu Ray player.
