Dishwasher Soap pods

Can I use the dishwasher soap pods on my new dishwasher? Manual says to use liquid soap only. Never had a problem with the pods on my old machine.

It's safe to use soap pods in all dishwashers mostly since newer dishwashers don't use as much energy
