I have a RS22T5201SG fridge and the ice will not dump if bucket is inserted.  If I hit the test button it does drop the ice correctly.  I have taken the bucket off and verified the ice is dumped automatically.

I have done the typical troubleshooting steps - unplugged fridge for  2 min, took out bucket and removed/cleaned all contents, etc.

Any ideas on what triggers ice to not unload when bucket inserted? I refuse to call a tech to come and repair as the fridge is out of warranty but only a few years old.  Very disappointing.

Hi there, I can definitely understand the frustration of having your ice maker not working. You mentioned already trying many troubleshooting steps. I'd like to still provide the following link to our full troubleshooting guide, as there may be additional steps for you to try.

However, if this does not help then this will require service. You have a couple of options based on your warranty.

- If your unit was recently purchased, you can check with your retailer on their return/exchange processes.
- If you have an extended warranty you can reach out to them to have service set up.
- If you're within the one year warranty, you can Private message me or one of our moderators or you can call in directly at 1-800- 726-7864 with your full model and serial number to have service setup
- If you're OUT of warranty, you can use this link below to find a service center in your area.
