Kitchen and Family HubI have had the above refrigerator for 9 months in a brand new home that was just built (I.e. no existing mold). Found black mold in top of pitcher in the spout and around the gasket. I just cleaned out the pitcher with soap, water and vinegar and am letting this dry. The pitcher is used multiple times per day. What is cause of this? I have seen this reported by another person and I’m concerned.

Kitchen and Family HubHi there! I can definitely understand your concern with finding mold in your pitcher. Mold is caused by high humidity or moisture in the air. Because the auto-fill pitcher is typically filled with water, it needs to be cleaned regularly to prevent things like mold and mildew. I'm providing a link below to our guide on the best cleaning practices for our refrigerators. Alternatively, you can also purchase a replacement pitcher through SamsungParts.com or by calling 1-800-627-4368.
