Samsung S90C 65 - not turning on the AV Receiver (but turns it off)

My Samsung S90C is connected to my Onkyo 7100 AV receiver via eHDMI cable (high quality).

When using TV's remote, the receiver is not turned on. When I turn on the receiver manually and use TV's remote to turn off the TV, it also turns off the receiver. The sound is coming out of the receiver and I can use the TV remote to control the volume, so the HDMI-CEC is functioning, except for this issue. This issue is highly annoying.

I am running the latest firmware on the TV and receiver. Everything is set up correctly with TV and receiver HDMI-CEC turned on. I even reset the TV to factory settings and restored everything and still this issue persists.

Appreciate any help on this...

Solution

After many settings changes, trial and error, here is what worked for me:

On my Onkyo Receiver' Settings --> HDMI --> Audio TV Out = ON (was Auto before)

This seems to work for now.
