Is there a way to get my washer and dryer to work with the smart things app without having 2.4 ghz wifi? Apparently Comcast does not offer 2.4 wifi just 5 ghz wifi which is stupid because alot of smart products need the 2.4..

I believe in the settings from your Comcast app you can add the 2.4ghz option

Thank you i tried but was told apparently Comcast does not offer that one anymore and says it is not needed. We had it a few years ago but then I guess Comcast upgraded their system and is permanently gone now. I just want to be able to control my washer and dryer again.

I have comcast and I have dual bands. Comcast knows that most smart appliances require and work best on 2.4. They cannot give you 5 gHz without providing 2.4. what Comcast does do for user convenience is bridge to two bands and let the devices work out which is best. This does not normally work, as most smart devices are simply not that smart. So, whoever at Comcast told you that is either being dishonest or us unknowledgeable. You can access your router settings and separate the two bands - or you can have a technician do it if you don't feel comfortable.

The router settings should look like this - if you don't see both networks listed separately, tap on the "disable" icon, then choose a name an password for the 2.4 network (it can be the same).

I recently added a mesh router to my home so I can extend to my man cave in the back and even that gives me the 2.5 GHz for my LED... It's frustrating with some companies right

๐Ÿ˜ซ annoying. I almost went with my provider ones but found a great deal at Costco for some. That really sucks. It can be frustrating right.
