Monitors and Memory

Hello Everyone,

I just purchased an 32" Odyssey OLED G8 UHD Gaming Monitor (Model Num: LS32DG802SEXXY) [the 2024 flat screen version] and although impressed with the Monitor I have had a number of annoying issues with it.

The screen randomly goes black for a second or two. I have Game Mode on using Adaptive Sync = On. I am using firmware 1004 and have a Nividia RTX4080 Super and have G-Sync turn on.

Also, occasionally the screen has gone black and frozen, and only way to fix this is to turn monitor off/on via the remote.

Has anyone else had issues with the screen going black?

I am keeping an eye on this problem for the next week, if not happy I will be returning it to Samsung for replacement/repair. I have actually bought 3xG8s and 2xG6s for me and my kids. But only my G8 is having the problem. One of my kids just has the G8 an not experienced any issues. My other kid has a G8 and G6 (vertical orientation). He doesn't seem to have any problems (other than the menu/OSD of the G8 not responding like mine!). My setup is one G8 and a G6 (vertical). However, the difference is that I have two computers connected to the displays. My primary (home) PC uses the DisplayPort and uses the Nvidia RTX 4080Super and the other computer is a work laptop connected to a USB/Display Hub that has two HDMI outputs. So the laptop uses both monitors. I am wondering if the 'second' connection (using HDMI) is causing interference or something with the primary display?

When using my work laptop connected to the monitors it is not using VRR/Adaptive Sync (eg. Adaptive Sync = off), and so far I have not seen the black screen at all when operating in this mode. But when I use my home PC that uses DP with Adaptive Sync I seem to experience the problem. (This is the whole point of Adaptive sync is that when using a powerful card to avoid screen tear).

I am going to test this some more, with GameMode = off (eg. Adaptive Sync = Off) and see if causes the screen to go black and then the last test will be to totally disconnect the work laptop.

Are you using multiple video input sources connected to the monitor?

FYI. The G6s are stable as a rock..no issues.

I have been using HDMI with work laptop and seems stable. But using DP the problem seems to rear its head. Its not consistent though. I will change to a HDMI cable and see if that makes any difference for my G8. My video card has 4 DP and 1 HDMI, so the G6 will need to be using DP.

I was thinking that having another computer connected to the other port may cause interference, and the monitor gets confused with the auto-switch over. So I will also disable that setting and see what happens

I have the same problem on my 32" Neo G8 UHD 240Hz Mini LED Odyssey Gaming Monitor (LS32BG850NPXXU)

My suspicion is that its something to do with when setting the high refresh rate combined with DP connection.

Keen to get any guidance to troubleshoot & fix the issue.
