Monitors and Memory

Just got mine in a couple days ago. Got it all setup. Before I start this I have a very good custom computer. Every time I'm playing a game and I want to change the display or the resolution the monitor turns Black Screen and goes to the connect a device to the display port and starts to countdown to shut off. When I exit a game it does the same thing. Sometimes unplugging the cord from the back of the computer will fix it but half the time the screen stays black " and I still hear what's going on when black screen" I have to hit the switch and reboot the computer. I have been seeing a lot of this online with complains. Some say its the display cord "switch to a hdmi 2.1", some say turn off gsync, some say the recent firmware is making it do this.  Hopefully samsung figures this out soon because i really like the monitor when it works.

Ok, what OS, CPU, GPU, and monitor cable is your very good custom computer using?

Windows Home 10 64 bit, 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900KF 3.00 GHz, NVIDA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, DP that came with the monitor.

Did you read the User Manual?

It is normal for the monitor to go black during resolution changes, especially if it's commanded to use a non standard resolution/refresh.  If the GPU and monitor can't agree on an acceptable setting then perhaps returning it and buying one of the other 49 inchers out there is a better solution.

can confirm the same issue. Some games require to calculate or switch to new resolution, especially newly installed games, causing long black screen with 'no signal' message, and eventually, shutting down message in seconds. This started with the new firmware update as it was working fine before. have tested another monitor from different brand and it works fine. resolved this by manually editing the game.ini file to set the resolution and 'windowed mode' in games with this issue. Currently, can confirm this issue with Black Ops when trying to start the game, and Rainbow Six Siege in full screen mode. The black screen takes too long and Windows stops responding for while. My nephew has the same model and experiences the same, if not worse, issues.

This is happening to me in ALOT of apps and games...  any time this monitor tries to deal with variable refresh rate or any type of change it will black out,   you literally have to buy 20 different display port cables to find one that can barely work... I've found fiber optic cables work the best but the second I use a KVM switch that lets me switch between mac and PC, I get significantly more blackouts.. (probably the KVM can't or barely can handle it... but it is a dual display port GreenMatrix KVM rated at 4k 240hz, which it does correctly do and works 99% of the time) but i get random blackouts on occasion... I wish there was a firmware update that could make this monitor super consistent because blacking out randomly when in full screen (like even in BLENDER or Unity) kind of sucks...

also , in windows you can press

Ctrl + Windows Key + Shift + B

and it will RESET your nvidia drivers realtime which can get you out of a blackout... (on occasion).   Or you can just power it off and on and hope for the best.
