This is going to sound rather dumb, but when I turn off my monitor the blue button keeps blinking. Is it not shut off properly? I bought it for gaming and never owned one before so I'm not sure?

I will be happy to assist you. If you go to Menu>Settings>Power LED On, you can change the LED settings to be Off when the device is powered off.
