Did you use the option menu on the monitor and select hdmi connection? Make sure you have the correct cables or use thr cables that came with the monitor as older cables might not be compatible

I did. I also tried different cables. I did try switching the display to extend these displays to see if the monitor would work at all and it does,just won't find the hdmi signal and can't be used separately.
