If I were to replace my current 5400 RPM laptop SATA hard drive with a SATA solid state drive, would I still be able to factory restore the solid state drive or re-install the pre-installed OS and associated software back onto the new SATA SSD?

To make this work, you would need to 'clone' the drive's partition scheme to include the built-in restore partition. The other option would be to create an external backup from the restore menu on the laptop.

I suppose cloning software might be the easiest option for me. I was hoping or thinking I could just get an image from Samsung to re-install everything but sounds like that's not an available option.
