How do you turn off the auto-detect HDMI feature? Sometimes my Apple TV comes on and then the TV automatically turns on as well but I don't want the TV to do so. How do you turn off this feature?

Thanks,

Mark

Same problem in The netherlands wit the UE55MU7040. Only option is to disable HDMI-CEC (does not disable HDMI auto detect...), no menu sub option to disable HDMI auto detect. Samsung, please fix this and add the option to the european TV's ! (auto detect Toggle with remote doesn't work here)

The problem i have with the ks8000 is while im using headphones with my ps4 my soundbar(phillips fidelio b5 plugged into hdmi arc) auto switches off after 20 mins and changes the channel on me to hdmi 4 mid game which means a blank screen.

I cant even turn the soundbar off because it auto restarts.

Why would you mark this thread as solved when many US tv owners are still having the problem after the tv has the 1180 update.  This is a royal pain in the rear for the tv to keep changing sources.

I did go ahead and do this toggle on the my TV and verified it worked.

My original question though was about my TV randomly turning itself on and off.  I am only using one HDMI port and that is my receiver.  I removed the OneConnect from the Samsung TV and it still came on.  So I don't know if this fix will do it for me or not.   I am in US, have a UN65MV850D running 1147 f/w (last available).  TV turns on randomly.  Sometimes 3 times in one day, sometimes in middle of night when house is quiet (like poltergeist).  Usually wakes dogs up and they let me know the TV is on.   ;-(

Darrell, have you tried a factory reset?

Thanks.  Yes, that is one of the first things I tried.   That didn't work.  It just wiped out my picture settings and NetFlix password.   😉

Have you tried calling in for a service reset?

No, but what would that do that is different than a consumer reset?

I've no idea but I had one of those. Made no difference the only thing that worked was the software update 1201
