Projectors & Other TVsHow do you turn off the auto-detect HDMI feature? Sometimes my Apple TV comes on and then the TV automatically turns on as well but I don't want the TV to do so. How do you turn off this feature?
Thanks,
Mark

Projectors & Other TVsAny luck Pyretech? My experience with Samsung live chat (in Australia) took me down a long path of resetting the TV to factory settings, updating firmware, removing batteries from the remotes, changing HDMI cables, removing devices and re-connecting one at a time, and probably more things I can't remember.
It took me until the 4th or 5th person to tell me this is actually a 'feature' of the TV (2016 models). I then asked how to progress the problem, and was told to send an email to a service division, which I did. After having to explain to them again what the problem was (they thought it was a fault), I eventually had my enquiry sent to Product Specialist Team/Resolutions Team.
That was on 9 January 2017. Still haven't heard back, although I did pass on the link to this thread about a week ago so they know this problem is affecting many people around the world. They did acknowlege receipt of the link and said they had passed it on.

Projectors & Other TVsNope, I got the exact same steps to go through as you did. It should only take a software update to fix this.

Projectors & Other TVsI can confirm it is not CEC, because I cut the wire from pin 13 and still got the problem.
Now I am going to cut the wire from pin 19 (Hot Plug Detect) but first looking for a new cable
To be continued...

Projectors & Other TVsI have the same problem and am thinking about returning the Tv to Costco since Samsung cannot be bothered to fix the problem.

Projectors & Other TVsI am very sorry to those who it is still not working for, if you are not located in the US I cannot guarantee the 1180 update will work. Seems to be getting mixed reviews from what I have seen from people overseas. I must urge you guys to reach out to a support team in your area as myself and the other mods cannot do anything to help make them aware. The only engineers/developers we have the contacts for are based in the US. So as much as I want to help, I need you guys to seek help there as well as here. Even if they don't have a social media support system, bug them over the phone.
Since this is a US based forum and for US customers, the fix is the 1180 update, I am marking this thread as solved. (Please note this can be changed if things change, this is just so other users have better access to the fix.)

Projectors & Other TVsI'm in the US and I have yet to receive the update at all. For now, I have been relying on an hdmi switch to prevent this from happening, but I would love to connect my ps4 directly to the TV...
In any case, I recommend that anyone having unrelated issues like the inputs being relabeled stop trying to thread jack and open a new thread for the issue.
